Gresham


Gresham is an extremely friendly community that provides residents a comfortable quality of life. Serving as a resting spot for early pioneers migrating to Portland, the area was simply known as Campground because of its heavily forested environment. In 1884, a post office was established in order to designate the area as a city, and was named after Postmaster General Walter Q. Gresham. The city wasn’t officially incorporated until 1905. Hood, famous for its skiing and snowboarding, is located less than an hour away, and also provides cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and inner-tubing. For warmer seasons, dozens of campgrounds are a short drive away, and range from tent-only to full-service sites with boat launches and equestrian facilities.
